Wellspring College whose students had 100 per cent in 19 subjects in the 2013 WAEC has attributed the achievement to some salient factors.

The Principal, Mrs Oluwayemisi Oloriade while speaking with media men who were keen to know the secret behind the feat said; "it is a collective effort of stakeholders in school."

According to the results presented, students scored 100% in 19 subjects includingEnglish Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Technical Drawing, Further Maths, Agricultural Science, Geography, Government, Economics, Accounting, Literature in English, Commerce, Music, Christian Religious Knowledge, Food and Nutrition, Igbo Language and French.

She said: "God has blessed the school with seasoned teachers who are dedicated and committed to the mission and vision of the school.

"Teachers put in their best to make sure that they record 100% score in their subjects as we present students for the various examinations each year.

"Besides extra coaching hours, Saturday lessons were employed to make sure that the syllabus in each subject was covered. Before examination, thorough revision was carried out and coaching clinic organised for students lagging behind in various subjects to enable them meet up with the expected standard."

For students in Wellspring, Oloriade said that the school is blessed with teachable students who were ready to learn and also willing to give their best shot at achieving greatness.

According to her, students’ ability to yield to corrections and humble themselves under the guidance of their teachers and the Holy Spirit have often resulted in their being honoured with good results.

She disclosed that parents and guardians have helped in no small measure to see these students come up with success story."Before examination, both staff and students gave ourselves to fasting and prayer."

Her words; "The proprietor of the school is supportive in providing all needed resources for effective teaching and learning processes. He also gave me free hand to lead and manage these resources as God leads."

Oloriade who urged teachers to give their best said, "as a teacher, if you will not give your best, better quit the job. Teachers should go the extra mile to ensure that delivery is achieved.

Dedicated teachers will teach students to understand and apply the lessons. It is what a teacher knows he passes on to students.”
